CURATED CLOSET:

NEW YEAR, SAME ME.

At the beginning of the new year I spend some time revisiting my wardrobe, checking in on my style, identifying new dressing patterns while reflecting on what no longer works for me and how I want my closet to evolve. I follow Anuschka Rees’ The Curated Closet workbook, and find it insightful and so very thorough each and every time I open it up. This year, I’ll be using this space to complete my 2024 curated closet touch base, sharing the journey, and I don’t know, maybe inspiring someone along the way.

Let’s get curating.

STATUS QUO QUESTIONNAIRE

acid-wash grey straight-leg jeans + white lady sweater + grey ballet flats + burgundy clutch

How much variety do you need? Do you enjoy wearing a wide range of differnet colors, silhouettes, and details, or do you like having a signautre look that you repeat with only minor variations?

i want a clear direction with my style and I want everything to look cohesive, but I don't want an exact uniform that never looks like it varies

simple. a half-tuck shirt into high-waisted jeans, a cropped hem, a lady jacket or blazer on top, a sweater tucked into a skirt, the idea is to look effortless in an un-done (but not sloppy) kind of way

Our clothes send a message about who we are. What message does your current look send? What message would you like it to send?

i think my clothes say that i value looking polished and that i like style

Imagine you had total confidence and unlimited funds to overhaul your wardrobe. Would you keep wearing the same type of outfits as you do now? If not, what would you change?

probably mix more desinger in my closet, but wouldn't change the silhouettes and overall vibe of my style

How was is it for you to choose an outfit in the morning?

i find myself with outfit paralysis far too often

really don't like it, but i should get over it. no one remembers

What is your typical decision-making process when it comes to buying clothes? Do you often buy things on a whim, or do you tend to make sure you have compared all your options first?

i stare at clothes and ponder the purchase for a long time before spending money. but lately, i’ve been more willing to buy something if i like it and it fits into my closet without too much hand-wringing
